With the switch over to digital TV reception, the government has made further changes to the TV transmission in 2015. They have re-allocated the frequency of some transmitters after the higher frequencies were sold to the telephone companies. This affected about 40% of transmitters Australia-wide.

If you are within 1km of a phone tower and your Saturn Antenna is older than January 2015, you may need an LTE filter to stop the booster in your antenna from boosting the frequencies that are now phone frequencies (700-840mhz). For more information click here.

The filter fits in-line between the wall and your TV.

  • ANY ‘old’ (prior to January 2015) caravan/motorhome antenna with a built-in amplifier will be boosting the signal on frequencies 700-840mHz (now being used by the phone companies). Because the antenna can’t distinguish between TV reception and phone reception, the boosting of these frequencies can create interference with the TV reception.

We have a filter that plugs into the back of the TV that will block the unwanted signal from 4G/LTE mobile transmitters. Already, we have had calls from the Sunshine Coast with interference problems. This filter, once installed, solved the problem.

ALL SATURN ANTENNAS MANUFACTURED SINCE DECEMBER 2014
HAVE AN AMPLIFIER THAT DOES NOT BOOST THOSE FREQUENCIES. IT BOOSTS ONLY THE FREQUENCIES 174-694MHZ.

So this filter for the TV is unnecessary with these newer antennas. Older Saturn Antennas will require the filter.
